Apple is one of the most recognizable global brands in today’s tech market, and one of their signature products is the iPad. There are several cool little tricks you can do with your iPad. Interested? Read on:
1.) Four Finger Swipes
If you are running multiple apps at once, and need to quickly switch between one or another without turning them off, you can use four fingers, hold them together, and swipe them accross the screen. This will allow you to swap between apps, similar to alt+tab on your PC.
2.) Pinching
Pinching across the screen is a fun little way to close out of an app and bring you back to the home screen.
3.) Read Out Loud
If you go to Settings>General>Accessibility>Speech, and turn on Speak Selection, you can then open an eBook, highlight where you want to start reading, and choose Speak in the menu that pops up which will have Siri read the eBook to you.
4.) Type in Foreign Languages
If you go to Settings>General>International>Keyboards, and select Add New Keyboard, there is a multitude of foreign languages you can choose from, including Emoji!
5.) Share Your Current Location
If you got lost from your pals in the mall, or want your loved ones to find you, you can open Maps, tap a pin (or alternatively your current location marker), tap the arrow, and tap the Share button. They will be able to see you on their maps as long as you are an entry in their contacts.
6.) Block Advertisers From Tracking You
If you go to Settings>Privacy>Advertising, you can select a button called Limit Ad Tracking. There is also another button here as well which anonymises you if you feel the advertisements you are seeing are too creepy or spot on.
7.) Remove Clutter In Safari
If you are in safari and are annoyed by all the ads or moving features of the site you are on, or you’re just having a hard time reading what’s in the text, there’s an option on the top next to the Search field that looks like 3 and a half horizontal lines. Click that button, and it enacts Reader mode, which extracts the text and text images into an easy to read format without any ads or videos.
8.) Send Hidden Messages
When using Messenger (the default texting app) you can send a secret message. Just touch and hold the up arrow, then tap Invisible Ink. To see what you sent, the recipient needs to rub the bubble they receive.
9.) Quickly Free Up Some Space
iOS can get rid of unused apps that you haven’t touched in a while quite easily. Just go to Settings>iTunes & App Store and select Offload Unused Apps. While deleting the app, it will retain the data and work you have done in that app, you just need to reinstall the app, and it’s as if it was never gone.
10.) Jet-setting Made Easy
Trying to catch a flight or need to pick up a friend at the airport? If you open the default search field in the home screen (just swipe down) and input the flight number, you will get an instant and up to the minute flight status.
